East Gippsland Challenge registration is on!

Spring has finally sprung and we are thrilled to announce that registrations are now open for the 2018 (the second edition) East Gippsland Adventure Challenge. The first Summer race will be held within the stunningly scenic East Gippsland Lake Entrance.

This exciting event will take place over the weekend of 1-2 December and we encourage you to use this event as an excuse to have a fun weekend away prior the start of the Christmas chaos! Three separate races will take place over the two days, including the Multisport race, O-Duathlon and Kids Challenge

The Multisport race is a unique yet challenging off-road course to be held on Saturday the 1stof December. This race begins with a spectacular 16 kilometre lake paddle around Rigby’s Island and is followed by an exhilarating 26 kilometre mountain bike ride which includes flowing trails throughout the Colquhoun State Forest and a stimulating 16 kilometre course along the Discovery trail. Single tracks complete the course with a grand finish back at the Lake Entrance. As a whole, the course is a stunning loop with a Lakes Entrance start/finish and one remote transition located just a short 10 minutes’ drive from HQ.

The course can be completed as an individual, relay team, or AR Duo Team (where a team of two complete the whole course as a pair). You can also nominate yourself for a single entry.

This race will be the second event of the thrilling Adventure Cup Series.

The action will continue with the Kids Challenge which is inclusive of running races, exciting orienteering tasks, fun obstacles and a final 300m water paddle.

The O-Duathlon race is a must-do event for those who are keen on navigation and adventure. Entry to this race is complimentary for all Multisport race contestants. The O-Duathlon consists of three navigation-based legs, including foot orienteering, mountain bike orienteering and a swift running leg to finish off.

Event HQ is located at Lakes Entrance which is approximately a 3.5 hours drive from Melbourne and 4.5 hour drive from Canberra. Lakes Entrance is a popular tourist destination complete with a gorgeous beach, one of Australia’s biggest inland waterways system and a wide range of accommodation and dining options, as well as family friendly activities.

Registration is open NOW. Early bird entries are available until the 30thof September – Don’t miss out!
