Calling all adventurers!!!

 

The best way to get into adventure racing and build your confidence to race in different environment is to get out to wilderness along with other adventure racers. 

Sharpen your navigational skills, become smarter and smoother racers. A fun filled weeked of trekking through the Grampians hidden gems (yes, we're not going to The Pinaccle or Boroka lookout, but you might visit them too if you never been there before), mountain biking on different surfaces and guided abseil. 

 

What: 2 days training focused on preparation for Winter Challenge adventure race.


Who should attend: Basic fittnes level required.


When: Saturday 22nd of August - 23d of August (arrival Friday night 21st)


Where: Northern Grampians

 

Limited to 10 people.


What is included:   2 nights accommodation (2-3 people per room basis), all meals over Saturday and Sunday (no Friday dinner), guided  training program including trekking, mountain biking, abseiling (you need to bring your bike, hire can be arranged for additional cost).

Firday evening:

Arrival (Assess Ears Lodge)

 

Saturday:

8.00-9.30 Berakfast, briefing

10.00-13.30 Trekking section (Assess ears)

13.30-14.30 Lunch (at  Zumsteins picnic area)

14.30-17.30 MTB section (McKenzie Falls)

18:00- Dinner

19.00 - AR talk (open for everyone to socialise, Assess Ears Lodge)

 

Sunday:

7.30-8.30 Breakfast

9.30-11.30 - Trekking section (Mt Stapelton)

11.30-12:00 - Lunch (Mt Stapelton)

13:00-15:00 - Abseiling practice (Halls Gap with Hanging Out)

15.00- End of the session

 

Focus of the training:

- navigational in mountainous areas;

- choosing your route;

- trekking practice on rocky, rough terrain;

- riding in changing conditions, sandy, rough surface.
- abseiling practice;

- having a lot of fun with like minded outdoorsy people.
